On Monday, Governor Newsom announced restrictions all across California involving a large number of different businesses. You can see these guidelines for yourself at covid19.ca.gov. I encourage every resident of California to go to that site to see for yourself what is being mandated. On that site it says, "Counties that have remained on the County Monitoring List for 3 consecutive days will be required to shut down the following industries or activities unless they can be modified to operate outside or by pick-up: fitness centers, worship services," etc. Solano County is on that County Monitoring List. Notice the critical exemption, "unless they can be modified to operate outside." We want to continue to meet to worship. We believe that it is right to honor our authorities. We believe that we can do both by meeting outside. This coming Sunday's forecast is delightful weather for being outside in the morning. So here is what we will do:
We will go back to live stream only. Please plan to meet with us in your homes at 7 o'clock Wednesday evening. And set aside time afterward to pray! You will find this week's Prayer Sheet attached to this email.
Classes will be put on hold. That is, the Sunday school classes will not meet.
Sunday Worship Service: 10:00 AM & 5 PM
We will meet outside on the concrete pad for services at 10:00 AM Sunday morning. We will set up some speakers to amplify the sound, and designate an area for people who would like to park and stay in their cars. So even if you cannot join us outside, consider driving to the church parking lot and staying in your car for the service. Trains, wind, heat, or rain—we will continue to meet regardless of the obstacles.
Those of you who wish to brave the heat, we will meet again at 5:00 PM Sunday evening though it will be hot then. This will also be an outside Worship Service.
We will continue to live stream Wednesday evening, Sunday morning, and Sunday evening services. The system we recently purchased is a mobile system and allows us to stream from outside as well as inside.
The bathrooms will be open, but we must ask you to wait outside the building for your turn to use the bathrooms.
As always, there are many unknowns still about how this will all work. I will do my best to keep you informed this week as I find out more.
Here is what you can do:
Pray for everyone to be patient and gracious as we make decisions on the fly
Plan to attend the 10 AM & 5 PM service either sitting on the slab, sitting in your car, or watching at home.
Be flexible and continue to watch the daily updates or check the website for news.
